A student of NIS Petropavlovsk became a prize-winner of the international INFOMATRIX-ASIA competition

A 9th grade student of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Petropavlovsk took the second place at the prestigious international INFOMATRIX-ASIA competition. The competition, which took place on March 25-27 in Astana, gathered more than 3,000 applications. Of these, only the top 600 finalists were selected. Over 250 teams from 10 countries took part in the face-to-face stage.

A participant from NIS Petropavlovsk presented the homepal project, an intelligent home care system. The Learner's system includes fall detection, voice assistant, and safety monitoring functions. The developed system is able to help the survivors to live independently and safely. The work was performed in the "Equipment Management" section. Here, the participants had to develop software for interacting with electronic or mechanical devices. The project included both a technical part and a practical focus, demonstrating the real benefits of the robot for society.

The competition was conducted in English. The participants went through two stages: online selection and face-to-face defense. In the final, the teams presented their developments to the jury, answered questions and demonstrated the work of the projects on special stands. According to the results of the competition, Artur showed a high result and won a prize.
