From September 7 to 18, NIS Almaty-Medeu held its Arts and Physical Education Days. The programme featured a variety of activities aimed at developing students’ creativity, encouraging their interest in sports and promoting an active lifestyle.

The programme opened with the launch of the Arts and Physical Education Days. Students were introduced to the upcoming activities and took part in a range of creative and sports events.

The sports programme included a team chess tournament for students in Grades 7–12 and a football competition among Grade 8 students. The participants demonstrated teamwork, quick reactions and tactical thinking.

The creative programme featured a series of workshops, giving students an opportunity to explore different forms of creative expression. School staff took part in the “Juicy Art: Fruit Miniatures” workshop, where they created their own artworks. Students also joined workshops on beadwork and Loom Bands.

One of the highlights of the programme was the “ETHNO-SABANTOI” cultural festival. The festival introduced students to national culture, traditions and values, while showing how cultural heritage can be brought together with the modern school environment.

The sports programme was complemented by the NIS RUN 2026 marathon. In the morning, students, parents and teachers gathered at the city stadium to take part in the marathon and promote a healthy and active lifestyle.

The Arts and Physical Education Days gave students an opportunity to showcase their abilities in different areas, explore new activities and spend meaningful time together as a school community.
