Students of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in the Medeu District of Almaty met with Timur Turlov, a prominent entrepreneur and Chief Executive Officer of Freedom Holding Corp.

During his visit, the distinguished guest learned about the school’s educational environment and explored the students’ research activities and innovative projects. He was introduced to the school’s modern facilities, students’ academic and creative achievements, as well as initiatives in technology and entrepreneurship.

The students had the opportunity to present their projects in artificial intelligence, ecology, energy, medicine, education and robotics. These included research into producing battery materials from agricultural waste, a mobile application designed to expand access to educational opportunities, a system for monitoring the condition of patients with limited mobility, and projects employing computer vision technologies.

An open dialogue with students was an important part of the meeting. The young innovators learned more about entrepreneurship, leadership and choosing a future career. The conversation encouraged students to reflect on pathways to success, turning new ideas into reality and contributing to the development of society.

Timur Turlov’s election as President of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) added special significance to the meeting. The discussion also highlighted the role of chess in developing strategic thinking, concentration and decision-making skills.

Meetings of this kind broaden students’ horizons, help them identify their professional interests and inspire them to realise their potential. They also provide valuable opportunities to exchange knowledge and experience, opening new avenues for the ideas and initiatives of future leaders.
