Students from NIS Almaty-Nauryzbay — Timur Sakiev, Zere Nurbol, and Aliza Stybaeva — successfully presented their projects at a global environmental competition in the United States, which brought together students from more than 80 countries worldwide. At the prestigious competition, 10th-grader Timur Sakiev won second place and a silver medal in the AI category, while 11th-graders Zere Nurbol and Aliza Stybaeva won second place and silver medals in the Entrepreneurship category.
The competition was held at St. John Fisher University in Rochester, New York. The competition’s partner, Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), offers silver medalists an annual scholarship of $18,000–$20,000, provided they enroll in the university’s undergraduate program. The scholarship is awarded each year throughout the duration of their successful undergraduate studies.
