At the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in the city of Aktau, a series of ten-day events dedicated to celebrating the Great Day of the Nation — Nauryz — has begun. According to the Nauryzname plan, the school staff and students celebrated Korisu Day. The special feature of this year’s celebration was that meetings were organized between methodological departments and among the school’s shanyrak groups.

— This year, in order for students to get to know their teachers better and to show respect for elders, we organized visits where students from the shanyrak groups greeted their teachers in the traditional korisu manner. We noticed that the heads of the methodological associations were very well prepared. They set a traditional dastarkhan for the children, shared instructive stories, and demonstrated elements of national traditions, — said curator teacher Dinara Serikkyzy.

On Korisu Day, the “Kazakh and Russian Language Methodological Association” demonstrated the traditional Besikke salu ceremony (placing a baby in a cradle) to the students and performed the Tyshtyrma custom. The children were delighted with the sweets that were distributed.

According to the Nauryzname plan, curator hours will also be organized at the school, along with a master class on national games and a National Clothing Day. 🎉
