05 October 2026 17:26
Ahead of Teachers’ Day, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev honored the country’s outstanding educators. Among them was Gulzhan Nurgalieva, a geography teacher at NIS Astana-Nura, who was awarded the honorary title “Honored Teacher of Kazakhstan”
Behind this recognition are years of teaching, professional growth, and a deep commitment to helping students turn their potential into real achievement.
For several years, Gulzhan Nurgalieva served as a lead expert for Cambridge-accredited external summative examinations. She is also a co-author of the educational resource “Climatic Casket.”
Yet the strongest measure of a teacher’s work is the success of their students. Her students have earned gold and silver medals at national geography olympiads. At the IESO-2025 International Olympiad, her students won 2 gold and 1 bronze medal for Kazakhstan.
Her professional achievements have also received recognition at the national and international levels, including a Letter of Appreciation from the United Nations, the Ybyrai Altynsarin Badge, and a Certificate of Honor from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. For her active contribution to the organization of the VII and VIII International Geological Olympiads, she also received a letter of appreciation from the Committee of Geology of the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Today’s award is a recognition of 38 years of dedication to education, to her students, and to her profession.
The NIS Astana-Nura community sincerely congratulates Gulzhan Nurgalieva on receiving the honorary title “Honored Teacher of Kazakhstan”!
