Today, a Japanese delegation led by Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike paid an official visit to the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Astana.

From the very first moments of the visit, the students created an atmosphere of traditional Kazakh hospitality for the guests by welcoming the delegation to the sound of the dombra and introducing them to the cultural values of Kazakhstan.

Chairman of the Board of the Autonomous Educational Organization “Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools,” Anuar Zhangozin, spoke about the key направления of the NIS ecosystem and highlighted the network’s role in the development and transformation of Kazakhstan’s education system.

The guests toured the school’s science facilities, attended a biology laboratory session, and observed the operation of a Wilson cloud chamber during a physics lesson. The delegation was also introduced to the results of teachers’ collaborative work within the Lesson Study methodology. During the presentation, special emphasis was placed on the importance of continuous professional development and a strong collaborative teaching culture within NIS schools.

Particular interest was drawn to the exhibition of student projects. The delegation was presented with the VoiceX device designed to help restore speech, as well as the AI-powered Bol application aimed at predicting cardiovascular diseases through ECG data analysis.

Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike highly praised the scientific projects developed by NIS students and thanked the school staff for the warm welcome.
