NIS Astana Students Triumph at the National WRO 2026 Robotics Olympiad

 Students of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Astana achieved outstanding results at the national World Robot Olympiad (WRO) 2026 and will represent Kazakhstan at the WRO International Final, which will be held in Puerto Rico in December 2026.

A total of 286 students from across the country competed in robotics, programming, and engineering design, presenting their projects for a chance to qualify for the international stage.

The theme of this year’s season was “Robots Meet Culture.” Within this concept, participants developed projects that combined culture and technology, showcasing innovative robotic solutions. Students competed in the RoboMission, Future Innovators, RoboSports, and Future Engineers categories.

In the RoboSports category, Team RobotNIS won 1st place. The team consisted of Miras Alanov and Yerbolat Eshmukhanbetov. Their coach is Gulbanu Amanbek.

In the Future Innovators Senior category, Team XLNC secured 1st place. The team members were Aknur Didarkyzy, Inkar Yermekkyzy, and Togzhan Kabdolda. Team MIT, consisting of Bekzhan Bakyt, Asygat Iran, and Qaliakbar Baimukhan, earned 2nd place. Both teams were coached by Alua Aliyeva.
