19 March 2026 15:00

The Nauryz holiday was celebrated with great splendor at the dormitory of NIS Atyrau. Parents, students, and teachers gathered for this special evening dedicated to the Great Day of the Nation, witnessing an educational event that promoted national values.

The evening opened with a traditional blessing (bata) from venerable grandmothers and continued with the "shashu" ceremony. The elegant dances of girls in traditional Kazakh attire and the energetic "Kara Zhorga" performed by the boys left a lasting impression on the audience. Young dombra players showcased the power of national art through soulful kui, while student performances provided a deep understanding of spiritual values.

A highlight of the gala was the "tusaukeser" (cutting the fetters) ceremony. This honor was given to the school principal, Yerali Bizhanov, who guided the toddler’s first steps.

Furthermore, the art of aitys was revived as guests enjoyed the impressive word-battle of improvisational poets. The evening concluded with a heartfelt blessing from a 90-year-old great-grandmother of a student, adding an even deeper significance to the celebration.

With a rich dastarkhan serving national dishes, everyone enjoyed the festive atmosphere and felt the authentic spirit of Nauryz.
