Abai Loran, a proud 2019 graduate of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Atyrau and now an alumnus of the University of Toronto, returned to his alma mater to conduct a highly significant "Financial Literacy" course for senior students.
This meeting was more than just a lecture; it evolved into a practical masterclass designed to prepare future leaders for their transition into adulthood. Having stood out for his intelligence during his school years, Abai Loran has now established himself as an international professional. His primary goal was to teach NIS students one of the most essential skills in the modern world — the art of money management.
During the course, the alumnus covered personal budgeting, increasing income sources, and expense management. Abai explained the importance of effective fund allocation during student life, particularly while studying abroad. He highlighted the principle: "Earning money is important, but knowing how to preserve it is a great art." The students were especially interested in the fundamentals of investing, interest rates, the stock market, and financial assets. Abai Loran explained financial operations in a simple and engaging manner.
Throughout the two-month course, senior students learned how to avoid unnecessary spending and took their first steps toward financial freedom. Sharing his experience of studying in Canada, Abai spoke about the proper use of international grants and scholarships, as well as the importance of capital accumulation from an early age.
