NIS Kokshetau 8th grade students Aisha Mukhtar and Aibar Mynbay won silver medals at the regional stage of the prestigious Teeneagle international English language competition. This intellectual competition, held in Almaty, brought together the strongest students from Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Macau, and Kyrgyzstan.
The Teeneagle Olympiad is known for its unique format, which requires participants not only to know the language, but also to undergo two months of intensive training using specialized resources. The competition consisted of two rounds, during which Aisha Mukhtar and Aibar Mynbay demonstrated a high level of academic writing in their essays, as well as brilliant erudition in the exam quiz. The success of the eighth graders was the result of their ability to think critically, argue clearly, and work effectively with English-language primary sources.
Thanks to their silver medal, the students received an invitation to the final stage of the Olympiad. Now, world-class horizons are opening up for them: Aisha and Aibar can choose one of three countries—the UK, the US, or the UAE—for the final battle for the title of the best.
It is worth noting that behind this great achievement is the painstaking work of English teacher Aina Nurmukhanova, who prepared and accompanied the students at all stages of the competition.
