Erasyl Makhsot, a 9th-grade student at the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Uralsk, has secured 1st place at the international subject olympiad "GeoNova – 2026."

The intellectual competition in geography was held online in English. The young scholar outperformed 125 participants from Kazakhstan, Central Asian countries, Mongolia, Indonesia, Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Russia, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Romania, Slovenia, Iran, Belarus, Tunisia, Taiwan, and other nations.

Designed to give young geographers the opportunity to test their analytical skills, spatial reasoning, and global knowledge, the competition consisted of two stages.

"All participants competed against each other in real-time. The first stage was written, while during the second stage, we completed engaging multimedia tasks," shared Erasyl Makhsot.

Erasyl was guided by his geography teacher, Bolganai Abuova.

Congratulations on this brilliant achievement!
