On September 10, 2026, as part of the Kazakh and Russian Languages Subject Week “The World of Words: Language, Culture, Creativity,” Nazarbayev Intellectual School hosted a literary evening entitled “Қасымнан қалған із,” dedicated to the 115th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Kazakh poet Kassym Amanzholov.
The event provided students with an opportunity not only to explore the creative legacy of one of the most prominent representatives of Kazakh literature, but also to experience through poetry the power of words, the depth of human emotions, and the poet’s special connection with his homeland and the era in which he lived.
The literary evening was organized by Kazakh language teachers A. O. Yessenzholova and Zh. O. Zhamauova. Students of Grade 8 “C” — D. Bagdat, A. Yerboluly, G. Duisengali, A. Izbasar, Kh. Kentbek, N. Beisen, I. Kokibas, A. Murat, A. Temirkhan, R. Injil — as well as Grade 9 students E. Orynбай and D. Sarkitov, took an active part in preparing and conducting the event.
The participants presented the audience with a literary and musical programme featuring Kassym Amanzholov’s poetry. Their expressive readings conveyed the emotional depth of the poet’s works, his love for his homeland, and his reflections on life, humanity, and destiny.
The theatrical performances held a special place in the programme. Students from Grades 8 “C” and 9 presented dramatizations of the works “Дауыл” (“Storm”) and “Ақын мен шахтер” (“The Poet and the Miner”). Through acting, stage imagery, and dialogue, the students brought the literary works to life.
This format allowed students to immerse themselves more deeply in Kassym Amanzholov’s creative work, discover their own artistic abilities, and view the poet’s literary legacy from a new perspective.
The literary evening concluded with a performance of the song “Жас дәурен,” based on the poetry of Kassym Amanzholov. The song was performed by school teacher Yerkinbek Kanatuly. The Kazakh poet’s verses, accompanied by the dombra, created a warm atmosphere and provided a beautiful conclusion to the creative evening.
The literary evening “Қасымнан қалған із” was not only a tribute to the memory of the outstanding Kazakh poet, but also another opportunity for students to connect with Kazakhstan’s rich cultural heritage through words, music, creativity, and performing arts.
The creative legacy of Kassym Amanzholov continues to live on in his poems, songs, and in the hearts of new generations. It is this “legacy left by Kassym” that continues to help us discover the power of the Kazakh word and appreciate the value of national culture.
