Nurasyl’s Project Wins Recognition at Zerde Competition

Nurasyl Abdiker, a 7th-grade student of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Kyzylorda (supervised by Akbota Zhumabai and Gulzat Shyntassova), has developed an educational board game titled “The Language of Emotions.”

The idea for the project emerged after reading “Ushkan uya” by Bauyrzhan Momyshuly. Nurasyl noticed that many students struggle to understand idiomatic expressions and often find it challenging to grasp the deeper meaning of texts.

The board game is designed to help students learn Kazakh idioms that convey emotions such as joy, fear, resentment, and others. It expands vocabulary and develops expressive speech skills in the Kazakh language. Classroom testing demonstrated strong student engagement and effective learning outcomes.

The project received high recognition at the 21st Republican Research and Creative Works Competition “Zerde” for students in grades 2–7. Among 260 submitted projects, Nurasyl’s work was awarded second place.
