Ahead of Republic Day, Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Kyzylorda organised a festive dombra flash mob, bringing vibrant emotions and the rich sounds of traditional Kazakh music to the city’s residents.

Around 100 dombra players performed together, playing well-known kuis (traditional instrumental compositions) and patriotic songs. The programme featured the kuis Balbyrauyn, Kenes, Kelinshek and Nauysky, as well as the songs Muzbalak, Bayraq, Atameken and Tau Ishinde, along with Nurtugan’s traditional poetic performance “Kanekey, Tilim, Soileshi”.

For a moment, the shopping mall was transformed into a lively concert venue, where the dombra brought performers and audiences together. More than just a festive performance, the flash mob celebrated the enduring power of national traditions and the richness of Kazakhstan’s musical heritage.

As part of a nationwide initiative by Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools, around 2,500 dombra players performed across the country, celebrating the cultural legacy of the Kazakh people.
